I was looking through some of the sample group websites, and I think that we should take an approach like these. Instead of having pages titled "lesson plans" and "blog," we can separate all our material into different sections that we used throughout the semester. We can have a page about "healthy foods" where we would post anything that we created under this subject (for example, my first lesson plan). So, let's brainstorm the different pages that we can use on the site.
Thanks!
Yes, I totally agree I really like the layout of the websites approach much better than the "titled pages". I just think it flows a little nicer, and seems more professional. That's just my opinion, let us know what you think about that Courtney. Also, I like the idea of different pages, for the separate material we will be covering. A few other ideas we could incorporated there would be..."an active lifestyle".."important ways/tips to live a healthy lifestyle"..."local activities/farmers markets to get involved in within you community"...just some ideas to bounce off of:)
ReplyDeleteI did a little work on it tonight. I made the topics. Feel free to add/take away any topics you feel necessary! Now we need to work to get all the requirements in the site.
ReplyDeleteBesides posting all of our individual topics, we need to create a list of standards that our project covers. I think that we should do this all together because we covered different topics throughout the semester.
ReplyDeleteLove all the ideas girls! I like the other sections that you were talking about, Lisa! As far as the standards go, are these like the state standards that we used in our lesson plans, as well as other standards that are covered in our youtube video, podcast, etc?
ReplyDeleteThe standards are just the ones that we included in the lesson plans.
ReplyDeleteShould we create a separate tap/page for the standards or just put them at the end of the lessons/topics they go with? I was just kinda confused on how we are suppose to keep it all organized.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't posted my lesson yet, I have been out of town, I will be back on Wednesday and have the day off, so I plan on getting caught up.
I have made a subpage for the standards. You can find a link to it on the main page of the site.
ReplyDeleteOk thanks Ashley, I will check it out again. I must have overlooked it.
ReplyDeleteHi group!
ReplyDeleteI've been adding stuff to the website. But I am having some difficulties. Ashley, how are you able to have the drop down sections under the category "Eating Healthy"? When I click on create page it puts it under a subpage instead of creating a new tab. Can you help me?
You need to press the "edit sidebar" at the bottom of the sidebar and then add the page to it. Then you click it to highlight it and use the arrows to move it under the subject you want and then press the right arrow to tab it over. Save your changes and it will be a subpage!
ReplyDeleteAlso, make sure that you don't just post the url for links. You can create a phrase or word that you want to be the link then highlight it and then attach the link to it by pressing the "link" button!
